Travel Health & Vaccinations FAQs
How far in advance of my trip should I see a Private Doctor at a Travel Clinic? +
We recommend arranging your travel health consultation 4 to 6 weeks before departure where possible. This allows time to complete vaccine schedules and for protection to develop.
If you are travelling at short notice, it is still worth seeking individual travel-health advice because the vaccines or other precautions that may be appropriate depend on your destination, itinerary, medical history and time before departure.
Which travel vaccines do you provide? +
As an officially accredited Yellow Fever Centre, we offer a range of travel vaccines including Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hepatitis A & B, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Cholera, Meningitis ACWY, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio and Tick-Borne Encephalitis, together with malaria-prevention advice and medication where clinically appropriate. Vaccine availability is subject to stock and clinical suitability.
Is the pre-travel health consultation really FREE at Regent Street Clinic™? +
Yes. The pre-travel health consultation and risk assessment are free of charge. You pay for any vaccines or medications supplied during your visit.
Can I be vaccinated on the same day as my appointment? +
Many travel vaccines can be given during the same appointment when clinically appropriate. Some vaccines require more than one dose or need time before travel to provide protection, so the recommended schedule depends on the vaccine, destination, medical history and departure date.
Does the NHS provide free travel vaccinations? +
Some travel vaccinations are available free on the NHS, including cholera, hepatitis A, typhoid and the combined tetanus, diphtheria and polio vaccine when indicated for travel. Other travel vaccines, including hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis and yellow fever, are not routinely available free on the NHS for travel. Availability can vary, so check with your GP practice or travel-health provider.
Do you offer a same-day service for travel vaccinations? +
Same-day travel vaccination appointments may be available, subject to clinic capacity, vaccine stock and clinical suitability. Contact the clinic to check current availability.
How long does the Yellow Fever vaccine take to become valid for travel? +
For a first Yellow Fever vaccination, the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis becomes valid 10 days after vaccination and remains valid for life under the International Health Regulations. The certificate can be issued at your vaccination appointment.

What is the main difference between seeing a Private Doctor and an NHS GP? +
Private GP appointments may offer same-day or rapid access, depending on availability, with longer appointment options. You do not need to be registered with a local NHS practice to book a private GP consultation.
Can a private doctor issue prescriptions and specialist hospital referrals? +
Yes. A private GP can issue a private prescription when clinically appropriate and can arrange a referral for specialist care or diagnostic tests when needed. Prescription dispensing and specialist appointment timing depend on the pharmacy or provider.
Discrete Sexual Health Testing FAQs
What private sexual health testing options are available? +
We provide confidential, doctor-led sexual health screening tailored to the type and timing of possible exposure. Different infections and tests have different testing windows, so a clinician can advise which tests are appropriate and whether repeat testing is needed.
- Early Detection Screen: Blood testing may be available after a recent exposure, with the appropriate timing confirmed by the clinician for the tests being used.
- 7-Marker Urine Screen: Laboratory testing for a range of common sexually transmitted infections using an appropriate urine or swab sample.
- Full Blood & Swab Panels: Broader testing options with secure digital results; turnaround times depend on the tests requested and laboratory processing.

Who performs aesthetic and anti-wrinkle injections at Regent Street Clinic™? +
All aesthetic treatments and anti-wrinkle injectables at Regent Street Clinic™ are performed by fully registered, experienced doctors in clinical treatment rooms. Treatment is subject to individual assessment, clinical suitability and informed consent.
What is Profhilo® and how does it differ from traditional dermal fillers? +
Profhilo® is an injectable hyaluronic-acid treatment used for skin bio-remodelling rather than adding localised volume in the same way as a traditional dermal filler. It is intended to improve skin hydration and elasticity; suitability and results vary between individuals.

How does Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) work for medically supervised weight loss? +
Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors and can reduce appetite and slow gastric emptying. Where prescribed for weight management, treatment is subject to clinical assessment, prescribing criteria and ongoing medical review.

What private health MOT and screening packages are offered? +
We offer several health MOT packages that measure selected health markers:
- BASIC Screen: Selected checks including liver and kidney function, blood glucose and full blood count.
- ESSENTIAL / SIGNATURE Screen: Broader screening that may include cholesterol, inflammatory markers and hormone tests.
- SUPER / EXECUTIVE Screen: An advanced multi-system package covering more than 200 reported parameters, depending on the selected panel.
